Edit 7/1/2016: Wedding video completed
June 10-12, 2016
This past weekend, Eric and Cindy tied the knot in Orange County. Angela and I left early Friday morning to drive down to SoCal, which took eight and a half hours. Let’s just say there were a lot of musicals playing in the car… We made it to Fountain Valley just in time for the rehearsal, where we met up with my other cousin who drove down from Chico. Since I was filming the wedding video, this rehearsal helped me lock down final positions.
Saturday morning started with the first look at Cindy’s house in Garden Grove where the wedding party got ready for the big day. The photographers and I made sure to get our shots in before we all headed over to the church for official pictures.
In the blink of an eye, the wedding ceremony began and sped by. Then, we all rushed to The Vintage Rose for the reception where the real party went down. Although I spent most of the day viewing the events through a camera lens, it was a beautiful day that everyone’s been preparing for for a year.
After the reception ended, Angela and I drove into Anaheim where we stopped by the Packing District. It was Saturday night and the place was packed. There was good music and the night was nice and warm. After getting our Popbars, we also checked out the Outlets at Orange, which was also hopping with the Saturday night crowd. When we couldn’t keep our eyes open anymore, we headed back to the hotel where little kids, still high on adrenaline from their day at Disneyland, splashed around in the pool.
The next morning, Angela and I hit the road super early, making it back to the Bay in less than six hours, a new record. We had a good but tiring weekend in Orange County and it was amazing to watch our cousin finally get married.
In the coming weeks, I’ll be editing the wedding video, putting together clips from the 73 recordings. I’ll be sure to post the video here when it’s done.
